“Where is the most comfortable place to swim with children?” — with my article on Akçagerme Beach, a Blue Flag beach. This public beach is located 3-4 km from Kaş center and is operated by the Kaş Municipality. There is a small parking lot, but as with everywhere else, you need to arrive early to find a spot. Along the roadside, cars can also park in an orderly manner. We’ve never had any issues with parking.
It’s worth mentioning again that finding a sandy beach in Kaş is not very common; the closest options for sandy beaches are Kaputaş Beach and Patara Beach. Like most others, Akçagerme Beach is made up of pebbles. You’ll find pebbles as you enter the water, but it becomes more like sand as you go further in. The beach’s spaciousness allows for freedom of movement. You can rent sun loungers and umbrellas if you wish, or bring your own umbrella and chairs.
You can meet your food and drink needs at the cafeteria operated by the Kaş Municipality. Compared to other beaches, this cafeteria is quite large and spacious. A great feature for families with children is the large water slide located behind the beach. You can enjoy it for a small fee, making the beach even more fun for the little ones.
Speaking of the sea, if you visit in July or August, calling the water warm would be no exaggeration. Don’t expect a refreshing chill when you take a dip. Lying under the sun for long hours isn’t the best idea either, especially if you’re with kids — that’s nearly impossible! 🙂 As a result, spending time in the water turns out to be a better option than sunbathing on the beach. You’ll see for yourself when you get here!
On the left side of the beach entrance, there is a green area that hosts weddings and events. Since this spot has plenty of trees, my recommendation is to open your chair under the largest tree’s shade as soon as you arrive. Sitting in the cool shade of the trees is much better than roasting under the sun.
Feel like swimming? Just take a dip in the sea, then grab a hamburger and some fries from the café and enjoy them on the grass under the trees. Bringing some cold fruits from home is also a great idea!
Since the beach is run by the municipality, there are free shower and restroom facilities available for use.

How to go ?
To reach the beach from Kaş town center, follow the D400 highway towards Göcek/Fethiye. The beach is approximately 7 kilometers away from Kaş center. You’ll find clear signs along the way, and you can enjoy stunning sea views during your drive.
There is a dedicated parking area, and the gaps between the palm trees along the road also serve as parking spots. It’s usually possible to find a spot at any time of day.
If you don’t have a car, you can easily get to the beach by taking minibuses that depart from Kaş town center and the coastal road.
