Let’s first introduce Sushi, one of the most famous dishes in Japanese cuisine. It is a dish prepared by combining rice with seafood or vegetables. Typically, the rice used to make sushi is seasoned with a special vinegar mixture and sugar.
The most well-known type of sushi is Nigiri sushi. Nigiri sushi is a dish where small pieces of hand-shaped rice are served with sliced fish, shrimp, squid, octopus, or vegetables on top.
Maki sushi, on the other hand, is wrapped in seaweed sheets called nori and contains rice, especially tuna, salmon, cucumber, avocado, carrot, and daikon radish.
Sashimi is prepared using similar seafood as sushi, but it is a dish where only sliced fish is served.
Sushi In Istanbul
In recent years, sushi culture has become quite popular in Istanbul. Especially in large shopping malls and crowded neighborhoods, the number of Japanese restaurants and sushi bars is increasing. Istanbul offers a wide and diverse range of options, with restaurants offering sushi at different price ranges and flavors.
Moreover, supermarkets like Macro Center and CarrefourSA also sell ready-made sushi. Although it is a dish that is ideally made and eaten immediately, the ones found in supermarkets can sometimes be acceptable.
Sushi Prices
Sushi prices generally vary depending on the location, quality, and level of service of the place where you eat or purchase. The content, variety, and portion sizes of menus offered in sushi restaurants also affect prices.
There are many restaurants offering sushi at different price ranges. In more luxurious and famous restaurants, you can find sushi varieties prepared by professional chefs using high-quality ingredients. Prices in such restaurants are generally higher. There are also more affordable sushi restaurants where simpler sushi options are offered, and prices may be more budget-friendly. Economic options such as lunch menus or set menus may also be available for sushi.
Since sushi prices can vary based on the quality and location of the chosen restaurant, it’s challenging to provide an exact price range. However, we are sharing the prices we experienced in Far Eastern restaurants in Istanbul.

Sushili – Chinese, Japanese, Thai NO:2
We don’t visit the Sushi restaurant that offers products in the Far Eastern Cuisine category, but we actively use its online ordering service when the weather is nice. Especially, the sushi sets are very delicious and carefully prepared. If you live around Atakent Halkalı or happen to be in that area, it’s definitely worth trying this Far Eastern restaurant.
Kaen Sushi NO:3
It was a place we had been curious about and wanted to visit for a long time. Finding a table from the garden or the upper floor is challenging; we managed to find one inside. It’s quite crowded and busy.
You can find upscale Far Eastern dishes at the venue located in Koşuyolu. Especially, the ones we liked were shrimp tempura, fried sushi, and noodles. The sushi was of standard taste. In terms of price, it can be considered slightly higher than other places.
Address: Koşuyolu Mahallesi, Asmadalı Sk. No:6, 34718 Kadıköy/İstanbul
Sushi Rolli İstanbul NO:4
In the menu of Sushi Rolli, alongside traditional Japanese sushi recipes, there are also different flavors and presentations. For example, a sushi variety called “Crispy Roll” is served with tempura shrimp, avocado, and special sauce. Additionally, Sushi Rolli’s menu includes vegan and vegetarian options.
Chinese & Sushi Express NO:5
It was a small, charming, and cozy restaurant that we went to a few times, especially for sushi. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu, and their guidance and recommendations were excellent. We ordered Tokyo Set, Sake Roll, Kani Roll, and California Roll for two people. The portion sizes and taste were delightful.
The sushi sets we ordered and the liver noodles arrived quickly. You can see some prices from the menu below. We usually choose their branch near the Şişhane metro station at the end of Istiklal Avenue.
In Istanbul, they have restaurants in Altunizade, Istinye, Taksim, Bakırköy, and many other districts, and online orders are also available.
