One of the hot air balloons that took off from Zelve Ruins in the morning for a tour for tourists in Cappadocia, descended for landing in Killik region of Kavak town. Meanwhile, the balloon made a hard landing due to the prevailing wind.
Among the passengers in the basket of the balloon, 2 tourists from Spain lost their lives, and 3 tourists from the same nationality who were injured were taken to the hospital.
Company Representative Abdullah İnal, who made statements about the accident; “This morning, our balloon took off from Zelve, we landed in Kavak. Our guests, who could not take the landing position while landing, fell out of the basket. Currently, we have injured people, it seems like 5 injured. Our governorship, civil aviation, accident team are here. This is the information we can give right now.” said.
In the accident, 2 people of Spanish nationality lost their lives and 3 people were injured. While the injured tourists were being treated at the hospital, the identities of the deceased tourists were also revealed. Balloon crash; Maria Christiana Baltrons, 62, and Dolors Masana, 64, died.
